Husky safaris
This action-packed and fun activity is perfect for the whole family. These dogs just want to run and they show it by barking eagerly before the start of the safari. As soon as you are in nature, you only can hear the sounds of the snow under the sleigh. You can easily control the team of the dogs yourself. This is one of the most popular experiences in Lapland, try it for yourself so you will understand why!
Snow mobiling
You can easily get to know the nature of Lapland on a snowmobile either on a guided safari. The snowmobile is easy to control and even long distances are comfortable in the beautiful scenery. You can also get to the best ice fishing spots on a snowmobile. The price always includes sled overalls, shoes, gloves and a helmet, so you are guaranteed to stay warm throughout this amazing experience.
Reindeer safaris
Saariselkä is located in the middle of the reindeer herding area in Lapland and you can't miss it - reindeer can be seen everywhere. We will be happy to take you for a visit at a local reindeer farm, where you will learn more about reindeer herding and Sámi culture. In addition to feeding the reindeer with lichen, the highlight is of naturally the unforgettable reindeer safari in the quiet forest.
Horseback riding
Riding or sledding with horses through a snowy forest is a truly magical experience. The vast Finn horses are adapted brilliantly to Arctic conditions and are able to move easily in snowy forests. Horseback riding is also suitable for beginners, and on a sleigh ride you get to experience nature in a comfortable way.
Fat biking on snow
There are countless routes around Saariselkä that are suitable for winter fat bike rides. You can choose a normal or electric bike to explore the nearby nature. The routes are well marked and we can also arrange a guided tour if you wish. We will naturally take care of your bike rental.
Nordic skiing
The Saariselkä area is one of the best Nordic ski destinations in Finland. Sokosti is located right next to the starting point of the ski tracks, so that you can get to the nature right from the yard. Illuminated trails also leave from in front of Sokosti. Better accommodation is hard to find if you’re a Nordic skier! You can also rent skis from us on site.
Snow shoeing
Our location next to Urho Kekkonen National Park offers great opportunities for snowshoeing. You can put your snowshoes on your feet in the yard, and from there you can go straight on an walk to the pure nature. If you wish, we can also arrange a guided tour. We will of course take care of renting snowshoes for you.
Downhill skiing
The Saariselkä ski slopes are located only about 1 km from Sokosti. The slopes are located on the Kaunispää and Iisakkipää fells and the season usually lasts until May. You can rent all equipment on site if you wish. On the slope of Kaunispää is also the longest tobagganing run in Finland, which has been awarded for its Northern Lights-themed lighting. This is one of the most popular and fun experiences for the whole family!
Northern lights
Sokosti is located right next to the nature park, so you can admire the Aurora Borealis from your own yard. We also recommend snowshoeing or snowmobiling, where you can admire the colorful Arctic sky in the dark forest. We organize guided excursions to nature, where you can get to the best places for spotting the lights.
Ice karting
Icecarting is a really fun and fast-paced activity right next to Saariselkä. You can take part in group races or a larger party can book the whole place for themselves, in which case you can organize a decent track race. The track is lit, so you can enjoy this excitement even in the evenings!
Ice fishing
Ice fishing, which is called Finland's most popular hobby, is at its best in a lake in the middle of nature. Snowmobiling combined with ice fishing works great. As a guided tour, we will take you to secret ice fishing spots that are not generally known!
